Description
AI tools can make lesson planning faster and easier, but many students accept AI-generated suggestions uncritically. The project “Evaluating lesson planning – AI-supported and AI-critical” therefore aims to empower students to use AI sensibly, assess its quality, and make informed didactic decisions.
At the heart of the project lies a two-stage learning intervention. During the first stage, students analyse AI-generated lesson plans to identify typical errors, critically discuss bias and quality issues, and recognise a lack of innovation, thereby becoming aware of the risks of unreflective AI use. They then optimise their own plans using clear criteria, prompts and reflection aids, learning to use AI as a tool specifically for providing feedback and improving quality.
Over three semesters, the concept will be tested in various subject areas, developed further and prepared for widespread use. The ultimate goal is to empower students, lecturers and future teachers to use AI competently, critically and responsibly in lesson planning.
