International relations and partner universities

PH Zurich has exchange agreements with over 100 universities around the world. Under the Swiss-European Mobility Programme (SEMP), the Swiss programme for Erasmus+, PH Zurich has entered into exchange agreements with around 70 European higher education institutions. PH Zurich also has bilateral agreements with a number of prestigious universities in the field of education around the world.

Student mobility

Mobility options for students from partner universities (incoming students)

PH Zurich is happy to welcome exchange students from partner universities and offers a range of exciting course units taught in English, German and French.

Mobility options for PH Zurich students (outgoing students)

PH Zurich students can choose to spend their fifth semester at a higher education institution in the French or Italian speaking part of Switzerland or at a partner university in Europe or beyond.

Assistant Teachership and Stage Professionnel for PH Zurich students

Those studying to become teachers of primary education or lower secondary education with a foreign language element to their degree programme complete a supervised teaching practice lasting several weeks in a country where French or English is spoken as an official language. This gives them a real insight into a different educational system and allows them to develop their foreign language skills. To this end, PH Zurich works with partner schools in English-speaking countries, which can help PHZH students to improve their English skills and general teaching ability. For the Stage Professionnel supervised teaching practice in a foreign language, PH Zurich works with partner universities in Western Switzerland.

Staff mobility

PH Zurich supports the mobility of staff, faculty members and researchers. PH Zurich is happy to welcome university employees from other countries, especially from partner universities. Staff mobility is based on a bilateral exchange agreement between the home university and PH Zurich.

Staff mobility under the Swiss-European Mobility Programme

Staff from partner universities can come to PH Zurich within the Swiss-European Mobility Programme (SEMP), the Swiss programme for Erasmus+. These visits last at least two days and don’t tend to exceed one working week. They can be used for continuing education purposes and/or include at least eight teaching units or contact hours at PH Zurich as a minimum requirement.

There is a limit on the maximum duration and funding through Movetia on behalf of the Swiss government. The International Office at PH Zurich will be able to tell you whether you are eligible for financial support through the SEMP programme. They can provide you with all the information and forms you need.
