Description

The project investigates the implications of digital transformation for the professionalisation of teachers at Swiss primary schools and analyses the conditions and requirements for establishing an appropriate training culture. The digitalisation of teacher education means more than transferring a traditional further education program to an online setting. Addressing the multiple and prevalent challenges requires a cultural change in teacher professionalisation that affects individuals, their competencies, and educational organisations. It entails professional skills, novel training, and further education formats. DEEP Professionalisation investigates the conditions for the success for, and barriers to equitable teacher professionalisation in primary education in the context of digitalisation. The project explores both the skills and knowledges needed and the digitalisation of further education offers.

Barbara Getto presents the research project DEEP Professionalisation.
