Description
The DEM-ED project has the overall goal of strengthening democracy and peace education in teacher training. The primary target group of the project are lecturers involved in teacher training with a focus on democracy and peace education. They are ideal multipliers, as they can provide both professional impetus and directly promote the relevant skills of prospective and trained teachers through their classes. Teachers, in turn, can better integrate democracy and peace education into their schools and lessons if they have been prepared and trained during their studies or further training.
The DEM-ED project has the following specific objectives:
- Through international networking, the didactics of democracy and peace education will be further developed and strengthened with regard to the challenges of digitalisation.
- Transversal approaches such as democracy education and education for sustainable development will be increasingly anchored institutionally (e.g. in curricula, teaching, school development).
- Long-term dialogue on democracy and peace education is ensured through the establishment of a digitally supported network.
