In the Department for Research on Subject-Specific Education at PH Zurich, six research groups look at teaching and learning processes. Depending on the subject, they investigate the foundations of learning as well as central aspects of teaching quality.
Our mission
The Department for Research on Subject-Specific Education is responsible for research in this discipline and looks at research in teaching and learning accordingly. Subject-specific education is the science of subject-specific teaching and learning inside and outside of the school environment. It deals with the selection, legitimation and pedagogical reconstruction of learning objects, the definition and justification of teaching objectives, the methodical structuring of learning processes and the appropriate consideration of the psychological and social starting situation of teachers and students.
