Our mission
The Science Education Research Group studies teaching and learning within science. The focus here is on teacher training and continuing education, as well as teaching and learning processes in the classroom. The aim is to emphasise the relevance of science as a learning area relevant to real life as we know it. The focus is on skills for gaining scientific knowledge, which are of increasing importance for school pupils in a world shaped by science and technology. The aim of science lessons – and also of the research indirectly – is to ensure that young people have the confidence to experience, explore and consciously shape their environment and to spark their curiosity about new things.
