Liana Pirovino is a lecturer and mentor in work-based learning at the Zurich University of Teacher Education. She is also a member of the core team for work-based learning and of the doctoral programme at the Zurich University of Teacher Education (doknetz). In her research-based work, she is part of the ‘Empirical Higher Education Didactics’ research group.
Her educational journey began with the Maturität (MAR) at the Graubünden Cantonal School in Chur in 2003. This was followed by a Bachelor’s degree in Primary Teaching at the University of Teacher Education Graubünden in Chur (2003–2006). In 2008, she completed the D.A.L.I. Diploma avanzato di Lingua Italiana ‘Firenze’ in Chur and, in 2010, the Advanced Cambridge Diploma in English in Zurich. In 2013, she obtained a Master’s degree in Secondary Teaching from the Zurich University of Teacher Education, and in 2014, the Cambridge Proficiency Diploma in English in Zurich. From 2015 to 2018, she studied at the University of Zurich, Institute of Education, and obtained a Master of Arts in Education.
Since 2021, she has been pursuing a PhD at the University of Zurich’s Institute of Education on “Complex requirement situations as learning opportunities in teacher training”.
