The Centre for School Improvement studies processes of change within the school system and their impact on school practice. A key focus is researching and supporting development processes across various subject areas and at different levels of the education system.

Our mission

The Centre for School Improvement is dedicated to researching processes of change taking place in schools and, more broadly, within national and international education systems, driven by developments in pedagogy, education policy, society, or technology.

The Centre for School Improvement adopts a participatory research approach, in which stakeholders in the school system are not merely the subject of research but actively participate in research processes. At the same time, the Centre itself engages in research-based participation in processes of change. In close collaboration with its partners, a wide range of qualitative and quantitative methods are employed, adapted and/or newly developed.
