The Centre for School History explores historical aspects of education inside and outside of the school environment, the professionalisation of the teaching profession and different forms of educational knowledge.
Our mission
The aim of the Centre for School History is to acquire knowledge based on the history of education. It seeks to help with the critical and analytical evaluation of social traditions, expectations and dynamics in schools and extracurricular fields. The centre’s research focuses on various historical insights and practices in teacher education, the transformation of educational knowledge within and beyond the school context, institutional transformations and ambitions for educationalisation.
