Description
The Development of Citizenship Competences in Ukraine (DOCCU) project aims to support Ukraine in implementing the Council of Europe Charter on Education for Democratic Citizenship and Human Rights (EDC/HRE). The PH Zurich teaches EDC/HRE to teachers, school leaders and civil servants. The concept for the training programmes was developed together with Ukrainian education experts and the National Academy of Public Administration.
DOCCU is being implemented in eight regions of Ukraine. The training centres for teachers and civil servants play a central role as they train all their teaching staff in EDC/HRE. DOCCU has been integrated into the school curriculum since January 2017, making it part of Ukraine’s educational reforms. DOCCU teaching materials are made available on a website in Russian, Ukrainian and English.
