Our mission
The Department for Higher and Adult Education covers the range of courses available to teachers in upper secondary, tertiary and adult education.
Its three centres offer training and services for external and internal audiences. In its specialist expertise, the department addresses all four of PH Zurich’s areas of service (training, research, continuing education, services).

Book series: “Forum Hochschuldidaktik und Erwachsenenbildung”
The “Forum Hochschuldidaktik und Erwachsenenbildung” (Forum on Teaching and Learning in Higher Education and Adult Education) book series from the Department for Higher and Adult Education deals with various areas of focus and offers lecturers at universities useful tools for reflection and action in their teaching practice. It
- stimulates discussions and debates on current and practical questions pertaining to teaching and learning in higher education and adult education,
- provides useful tools for reflection and action aimed at lecturers at universities of applied sciences and teacher education and in higher vocational training, in addition to those responsible for education and training at adult education institutions.

When writing, you can do everything wrong, but you can never do everything right. Rules are important in literary and academic writing, but creativity is even more so. Even a technical text tells a story, and a novel answers questions. In their contributions, academic supervisors, writing coaches and editors show that creative writing in all formats is an indispensable tool for thinking, learning and expression.
