About

Corinne A. Pernet has headed the Department of International Education Development (IPE) at the Zurich University of Teacher Education (PHZH) since 2020. She completed her PhD in History at the University of California, Irvine (1996) and subsequently taught at various universities abroad and in Switzerland. In 2014 she obtained the Qualification aux fonctions de professeur in France. In Switzerland she was active as Co-Director of the School of Latin American Studies, a network for the promotion of early-career researchers, as well as in various academic governance bodies. Her scholarly focus was on the history of social movements, international organizations, and development cooperation. The desire to actively shape development cooperation in the field of education ultimately brought her to PHZH.
