Andrea Schweizer has been the Rector of PH Zurich since January 2025. Prior to this, Andrea Schweizer was the Vice-Rector and Deputy Rector of the Bern University of Teacher Education (PH Bern), where she was also responsible for strategic higher education process management as well as the flexibilisation and individualisation of teaching. Additionally, as Head of the Institute, she held financial, personnel, and programme responsibility for the training of lower secondary school teachers at PH Bern.

After completing her Matura in Zurich, Andrea Schweizer studied history, economics, and constitutional law at the University of Bern. In 1997, she received her diploma for higher education teaching in history and economics. In 2003, she earned her doctorate in history at the University of Bern, where she also obtained the Executive Master of Public Administration (MPA UNIBE) in 2014.

Her professional interests focus on leadership in higher education, higher education process management, and the promotion of democracy.
