Educational interactions are a key prerequisite for the cognitive, emotional and social development of pupils and for the professional well-being of teachers.

A study sponsored by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) from PH Bern and PH Zurich aims to determine the conditions for successful and unsuccessful interactions – from both the inside perspective of the participants and from an external perspective. An interactionist approach is to be consistently adopted throughout. A total of 100 German-Swiss secondary school classes are being examined.

The SNSF project by Alexander Wettstein, Head of the Focus Programme “Social Interaction” at PH Bern, and Boris Eckstein, Academic Associate at the Centre for Inclusion and Health in Schools at PH Zurich, will start on 1 January 2024 and will run for four years.
