Zur Person

Mathias Decuypere hat an der PH Zürich die Professur für Schulentwicklung mit Fokus auf Governance-Fragen inne. Im Vordergrund seiner Forschung steht die internationale, makroperspektivistische Betrachtung von Bildungspolitik (policy) und -governance sowie deren Effekte auf die Schulpraxis. Ihn interessieren beispielsweise die Effekte globaler Governance-Entwicklungen (zum Beispiel behavioural governance, platform governance, synthetic governance) auf Praktiken der Schulorganisation und des Unterrichts, wobei er einen ganzheitlichen Schulentwicklungsansatz verfolgt.

Über die letzten Jahre hinweg hat Mathias Decuypere ein besonderes Interesse für Manifestationen und Effekte von Schule in der Digitalität entwickelt, das heisst für die wachsende Verzahnung diverser Schulpraktiken mit digitalen Technologien. Sein Ziel hierbei ist eine Form der Wissensgenerierung, die eine sinnvolle pädagogische Nutzung und Gestaltung digitaler Technologien unterstützt. Bevor er die Professur an der PH Zürich antrat, war er Associate Professor an der KU Leuven (Belgien), wo er eine Professur für qualitative Methoden in der Bildungsforschung innehatte.
